At Pebble we offer two rooms with dedicated stands that each showcase a creative business or art work, each business pay rent and agree to work in the shop for two days per month. Some businesses are new and some are well established but all have something in common, we have all changed our businesses a little to fit in with our area and visitors, we are trying out new ideas all the time and we work together organising evens and workshops.
Work Experience
I have set up the under 16s project that runs free of charge offering workshops and gallery space. My new project is called ~ Come Out Of Your Shell ~ and offers work experience at Pebble Art Cafe, We cover costumer care, working in the café, organising and maintaining the art gallery, health & hygiene, health & safety, using the till and credit card machine, keeping sales records and book keeping.
Come Out OF Your Shell
This project was set up to encourage the vision and energy that will unlock creativity, confidence and success for individuals or a team to meet the challenge of starting their own business. I have set up a working pitch at Pebbles, this pitch will allow a budding ontrapeure to try out a business idea and sell it while in a safe selling environment. We will start by helping to put the business idea onto paper, then point in the right direction for funding advice, look at forming a business identity, logo, and most importantly pricing.
We can then bring the business into Pebbles for a few months to try out the ideas. The student would set up and look after the pitch, and then work in the art café for two days per month. This contact with customers is invaluable to gather feedback that can sometimes lead to changing a few of your initial ideas.
We are constantly striving to help people and businesses create and adapt to the conditions in which they will evolve and grow. What could be better than to try out your business in this way, working with a mentor who will offer extra support when needed.
